Hi, my name is Deja Robinson. I attended the Outreach Development (ORD) program during my middle school years from 2015-2018. During these years ORD was my home away from home. The organization provided me with a place to go where I felt celebrated and supported not only academically, but also socially. I always looked forward to going there after school, and when summer came around I anticipated going to their summer program. I built long lasting friendships, skills, and knowledge from being involved with ORD. The staff was not only very encouraging but also very personable. They poured into each and every one of us and created an environment where I felt safe to go to them with any issues I had. They always encouraged forward thinking and made sure I knew that I could achieve anything that I put my mind to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I strongly believe that my experience in the program put me at an advantage once I got into my high school years and I credit part of my academic success to them. In the short amount of time I was there, Outreach Development planted seeds that made me who I am today and I still carry many lessons I learned there with me. I am currently 22 years old and work as a Real Estate Agent and Property Manager in NC. The tenacity it took for me to get here was instilled at ORD. I am grateful for the program and would highly recommend it to young students and their parents in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
